THE VILLAGE LOTTERY MAY NOT CONTINUE IN 2017
When the last draw of the current season takes place on the 16 December 2016 there will not be a follow on lottery as in previous years. Why? Several reasons; firstly, the lottery team leader, who is currently our treasurer, is standing down from the lottery and at the moment there are no volunteers to take his place. Secondly, falling numbers of ticket sales bring into question the viability of the lottery especially when the amount of work involved versus the effort expended is considered. Finally, our current negotiations with the Hassocks Community Partnership provide us with an opportunity to take a pause and consider our approach to fundraising across the board. On a more positive note , the lottery has raised almost £9,000 for community groups over the past three years and we have in place a very well organised, efficient system, meeting the legal requirements which would give any new or extended team a flying start.
HASSOCKS VILLAGE LOTTERY CLUB SEASON 3 -JANUARY TO DECEMBER 2016
County Councillor Andy Petch draws the prize winners for the 2016 January draw!
MEMBERSHIP IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2016
What is this all about?
Hassocks Amenity Association (HAA) and the Hassocks Community Partnership (HCP) which includes Light Up Hassocks (LUH) and their volunteers are working together this year. Last year was a great success and we are determined to build on that success in the coming year. This year the lottery will run for the complete calendar year rather than starting in December, this should make things easier all round.
How does it work?
Membership costs £12 per annum which entitles members to one unique number which is entered in each of the 12 monthly draws. Any one member may purchase up to four numbers with no limit per household.
Membership for periods of less than 12 months are available on a reducing basis after January 20th as shown below; eg. joining in February 2016 will cost £11 for 11 months, joining in Mar 2016 will cost £10 for £10 months and so on for each number bought. No further entries are possible this season after 8th June 2016.
Who will benefit?
All proceeds, after administration costs and prize money allocations, will be shared between the participating community groups.
Who benefited from season 2?
HAA, Hassocks Scouts and Light Up Hassocks will each receive £1000. Once the money has been allocated we will update you on their plans.

This could produce an annual income for distribution amongst the participant community groups totalling £3,600 or £1,200 each before related expenses.
